Some of my mission footage from Afghanistan of Air Force/Air National Guard Combat Rescue/CASEVAC operations in the Helmand Valley region. Responding on the fly via the HH-60G Pave Hawk, CSAR is an advanced and highly capable rescue system for the coalition forces fighting in Afghanistan. This very sobering deployment is probably my last in an “operational” capacity as I transition within my military career. Regardless of where I end up, I will continue to push for a dedicated high quality filming team, and a “prime time” outlet for the public to maintain it’s connection with our service-members. While you may very well encounter this element there, you’re just as likely to run into creeps and weirdos at the 7-11 or Denny’s. (They’re everywhere, man! Everywhere!) What you’re definitely going to find, however, is good, well-made merchandise at flea market prices. From garments to tools to footwear built to last, military surplus stores can cover many of a frugal geek’s needs. This was shot back on May 16th, 2009 at the Dupage Airport. They had a bunch of Choppers on static display for Marine Week. Pretty cool, thought the Osprey was worth an upload.
