Can I join the air force still with a disorderly conduct charge?

My friend and i bought plastic bb guns, and were going to have an air soft competition in his woods. We came to my apartment complex to change clothes, and I shot him in the back of the leg. Someone called the police, and I’m now being charged with disorderly conduct. I have a court date on February 5, 2010. I was going to the recruiter today. Will this charge mess me up for joining?

IF NO probation/fine/jail time, your enlistment should not be affected.

      Who called the police?
      – Your friend?
      – A neighbor saw you carrying weapons?

The recruiter may delay everything until after your court case.

Probably not. Besides it’s not the charges that mess you up, it’s the convictions.

You will not be able to enlist in any branch until the case is disposed of, meaning any and all fines paid, probation served, etc.
